The true path of happiness is growth. Riches are often the result, but riches are not the achievement that sustains happiness. Happiness can be present every day without riches and even before achieving the destination we have in mind.

Happiness is the journey more than arriving at the destination. Happiness is finding the daily habits that promote our survival opportunities and leaving the destination to unfold in due course. The biological reason is that the brain has been leading us through time in which for 99.9% of our history we have been primitive and struggling for survival. As soon as we have a small victory, like having a meal, the brain stimulates cortisol, our worry hormone. The brain wants us immediately to go hunting again. This is why after the elation of victory or a purchase, we are soon asking, what next?

The reward of happiness comes during planning, executing, and enjoying our progress.  This process including health and exercise stimulate all our happiness brain chemicals. Once we have hit a summit, we then move into the process of reaching the next summit. Reaching summits becomes our goals. Happiness is fluid. It keeps coming when we keep growing.

The five behaviors suggested in this book assist us in finding daily happiness and achieving our personal and career goals.
