It is amazing how
many thoughts flow through our brain every day about how we can make our circumstances
better.
We have so much on
our plate.
We have our job, our
role, our organization, our career, our family, our financial security, our health,
our lifestyle, and hopefully our dreams fueled by a Vision.
How does your brain
and nervous system prioritize? Unfortunately, it’s by what scares us the most
at the moment.
Our subconscious has
been tracking every single experience we have had since birth and utilizes what
it thinks are the most important lessons to influence our thoughts, behaviors
and actions.
Yes, maybe the most negative
performance events of your life are riding prominently at the top of your
subconscious.
These may come across
frequently as reminders of your limits and are thrown into your mind whenever
you contemplate a positive step forward that stretches your capabilities.
The first system to
get a message is your nervous system.
The subconscious says
you are about to engage in a bold activity for which you might not be prepared.
For which you might not have “the right stuff”.
Yes, what could be
more limiting than that as an internal support?
Your Human Operating
System (HOS) is controlling your life. It is controlling your future.
It can be mastered. I
call it Internal Mastery.
What are some aspects
that you can bring to the top of your consciousness that will start feeding
current data into your subconscious that can be used to help you find your
destination and your compass?
How do we focus on
the thoughts and behaviors that matter most?
I like to start with
our Vibration.
It is the summary of all your feelings that without your conscious control tell people what is going on with you. It is a reading of your current feelings about yourself. Its hard to hide.
Raising your
vibration is the first step to attracting people and opportunities. There are
several steps used by healers, but lets say if you start with a Gratitude
Practice, you are on the way.
Secondly you must be
very self-aware. What are your strengths, your weaknesses, and then your
emotional, physical, and mental states of mind? You can’t function in a vacuum
without being aware and conscious of these facts.
Third, you should
know your core values. They guide your beliefs, thoughts, and behaviors. They
should guide all your decisions. You should have boundaries to protect them.
Fourth, you should
have a Self-Care practice. You are your primary focus. Without taking care of
yourself, you cannot take care of others or your ambition. Rest breaks to
refresh are the core.
Fifth, you should be
mindful of your passions. What is it that really makes you excited to get out
of bed in the morning?
Sixth, my high priority
is my desired contribution. This is what creates the focus for all my
activities. How am I going to make an impact and improve lives? We are paid for
our contribution, and our purpose is often our contribution.
Seven is our work environment.
We need to function in a positive environment. All the talk about micro-managers
and toxic work environments are indications they are detrimental to our health.
Eight is your Vision.
It is the focus of your dreams and your ambition. Where do you want to wind up,
short term and long term? It should be your North Star. It should be your “why”
for everything. Nothing builds determination, fortitude, and resilience like
your “why”.
And though there are
many more important considerations, let’s end this with your reputation. What
do people think about you and what might they say when you are out of the room?
As they say, if you want to know what you are putting out into the world, look
at what is coming back.
This is a lot to work on. Yet, creating positive thoughts for each will recalibrate your subconscious and then open your nervous system for bolder moves.
