If you are going to the moon, build a good rocket. The capsule may have the payload, but the payload isn’t valuable if the rocket doesn’t arrive.
The team to achieve the Organizational Mission is the rocket.
One astronaut said, what worries me is the construction
went to the lowest bidder.
Don’t try to achieve results on the cheap. Build a great
team.
Teams work when everyone says there is no “I” in team. The culture is the philosophy and the lubrication that makes the team work together. Praise everyone lending a hand.
Football stars when interviewed at the end of a game
usually say I trusted my team. I score the points but I couldn’t do it without
the offensive line. And offenses often say they couldn’t do it without the
defense.
All the moving parts work together when someone is
focused on making the moving parts work better together. Get people engaged,
recognize them, reward them, show them how they are contributing.
Astronauts in the capsule are dependent on the thousands in the control room and the people making the parts.
The Mission is dependent on everyone.
